The Ark Community Charter School (ACCS) is a small school located in Troy, NY. We are a child-centered school that believes children learn best when they are motivated and excited about learning.

The motivation and excitement arise in a community where students feel safe, where they are known as individuals and where they are celebrated and challenged.

The third grade students completed a thematic unit on animals and animal habitats. While the students were learning about animals they created wooden animal sculptures in Ms. Molly's art room. When they studied camouflage, the class looked at traditional painting styles of Oaxacan artists in Mexico.  Using their bright patterns and designs the students created a pattern to help their animals hide.
