CLASSES - Still Life
Kindergarten and First Grade Flower Still Life
The
kindergarten and first grade students spent the month of
March preparing for the spring. In their classrooms they
planted seeds for a garden, studied how plants grow and
the part of plants, and wrote stories about gardens. In
art class they studied how artists use pattern and color
to create interesting compositions. They looked at a variety
of botanical artwork including prints of Rousseau's jungle
paintings and Central American molas. The children applied
their knowledge of plants in a still life oil crayon resist
painting of fresh flowers. They used color and pattern to
make their paintings more exciting.
