La Guinea, The Stowaway Hen
by Nicholasa Mohr ad Antonio Martorell

When the Spanish went to Africa to kidnap slaves, they found a Guinea hen and brought her along to Puerto Rico. (Diarama created by Andrew and Ashante)

The people in San Juan had never seen such a strange bird. They chased her all over the town. She flew into a tree and they threw rocks at her. (Diarama created by Destiny and India)

Suddenly the people heard a fire engine. It was going to a big fire. The hen jumped on top of the engine and escaped. (Diarama created by Elwin and Shatiek)

A kind man found the hen and brought her home to his farm. She liked living there but was lonely because there were no birds like her. One day the man brought a male bird home and they lived happily ever after and had lots of chicks. (Diarama created by Yusef)
